Florence Municipal Airport (FMU) is a public general aviation airport serving Florence and the central Oregon Coast in Lane County. It was activated in 1947 and is owned by the City of Florence, providing local pilots and visitors with access to the Siuslaw River area, nearby beaches and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
Located about 1 mile north of downtown Florence, the airport operates a single asphalt runway, 15/33, measuring 3,000 by 60 feet. The facility is used mainly for private, recreational and light business aviation, and it can accommodate smaller aircraft including turboprops and small business jets on a limited basis.
The airport is easy to reach by road from Highway 101 and is only a short drive from central Florence, where hotels, restaurants and services are concentrated. Ground access is primarily by private vehicle, rental car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer.
