About Fayetteville Regional Airport
Fayetteville Regional Airport is a public-use regional airport serving Fayetteville, North Carolina, and the surrounding 12-county Sandhills region along the I-95 corridor. It is a convenient domestic gateway for business and leisure travelers, including those visiting nearby Fort Liberty.
The current airport site opened in 1949, with Piedmont Airlines as the first scheduled carrier. Over the decades the terminal has been expanded and modernized, including the opening of Concourse B in 1987 and recent renovations to Concourse A, Concourse B and passenger amenities.
The airport is located about 6 km (4 miles) south of downtown Fayetteville off Highway 301, with direct access from Interstate 95 via Exit 44. Parking is available directly in front of the terminal, and onward travel options include taxis, rental cars and private transfers.
