About Evelio B. Javier Airport
Evelio B. Javier Airport, also known as Antique Airport, is the only airport serving the province of Antique in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is located in Barangay Funda-Dalipe, about 3 kilometers north of San Jose de Buenavista, the provincial capital, and acts as the main air gateway for travelers visiting Antique's towns and coastal areas.
The airport has been upgraded in stages since 2016, with a new passenger terminal building and an extended runway completed as part of the Antique Airport Development Projects. The terminal now covers about 2,224 square meters and can accommodate up to 360 passengers, while the runway has been extended to 1,800 meters to support larger aircraft. Commercial services resumed in December 2018 with Philippine Airlines flights between San Jose de Buenavista and Manila.
San Jose de Buenavista town proper is approximately 3 kilometers from the airport, and tricycles are the main form of local transport between the terminal and the town. A public utility vehicle terminal is planned at the airport to improve onward connections for arriving passengers.
With its expanded terminal, longer runway and direct Manila link, the airport provides a convenient domestic gateway for residents and visitors traveling to and from Antique, supporting tourism and local travel across the province.
