El Tehuelche Airport is the main air gateway to Puerto Madryn, a coastal city in Chubut Province on Argentina's Patagonian Atlantic coast. It serves domestic travellers and connects the city with Buenos Aires, supporting tourism, business and regional mobility.
The airport was inaugurated on 8 July 1946 and has since played an important role in linking northern Patagonia with the rest of Argentina. A comprehensive renovation completed in 2024 renewed the runway and passenger terminal, expanding the pre-boarding area, improving the gastronomic zone and updating security and accessibility standards.
Located about 10 km northwest of central Puerto Madryn, the airport is reached by road via Route 3, with taxis, remises and rental cars providing the main onward connections. Travel to the city centre normally takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
