About El Palomar Airport
El Palomar Airport is a commercial and military airport located in El Palomar, Buenos Aires Province, about 18 km west of central Buenos Aires. It serves the Buenos Aires metropolitan area and is the home base of the Argentine Air Force's 1st Air Brigade.
The airport opened to commercial passenger flights in February 2018 and became Argentina's first airport developed specifically for low-cost carriers, handling domestic and some regional international services. Commercial passenger operations were later suspended during the pandemic, while the airport has retained its military role.
Located near the General Paz ring road and the Acceso Oeste motorway, the airport is connected to Buenos Aires by road, with train services from the nearby El Palomar station on the San Martín Line, local buses, taxis, rideshares and private transfers.
