About El Embrujo Airport
El Embrujo Airport is the main airport serving Providencia Island, part of Colombia's San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina archipelago in the western Caribbean. It links the island with San Andrés and, through onward flights, with mainland Colombia.
Located about 1 km from Santa Isabel, the island's main town, the airport handles regional domestic traffic. A new passenger terminal was inaugurated in March 2024, replacing infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Iota in 2020 and expanding aircraft parking positions from two to five.
The airport has a single runway and a compact terminal designed for short regional flights, with check-in, security, baggage claim and a small commercial area close together. Taxis and local transfers cover the short distance from the airport to Santa Isabel and other parts of the island.
Despite its small size, El Embrujo functions as an essential travel link for residents and visitors, supported by regular SATENA flights to San Andrés and onward connections.
