Comandante Armando Tola International Airport is the main airport serving El Calafate in Santa Cruz Province, Argentine Patagonia. Inaugurated in November 2000, it replaced the older Lago Argentino Airport and became the principal gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier.
The airport lies about 21 km east of the El Calafate town centre and has a single, compact passenger terminal. Domestic flights connect the region with Buenos Aires and other Argentine cities, while seasonal international services link El Calafate with Santiago de Chile.
Road access follows Ruta Provincial 11 into town, with shared shuttles, private transfers, remis, taxis and rental cars available outside the terminal. The drive to the city centre typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and weather conditions.
