About Hudson Valley Regional Airport
Hudson Valley Regional Airport is a county-owned public-use airport serving Poughkeepsie and the wider Hudson Valley region of New York. It operates primarily as a general aviation and corporate aviation facility, with runways, hangars and support services that serve private aircraft, flight training and business aviation users.
The airport traces its origins to a government landing field established near New Hackensack in the 1930s, which later became Dutchess County Airport after the property was transferred to the county following World War II. The current passenger terminal building opened in 1980, and the facility was renamed Hudson Valley Regional Airport in 2017.
Located on State Route 376 in the Town of Wappinger, the airport sits about four miles south of downtown Poughkeepsie. Its position in the Mid-Hudson Valley places it within convenient reach of Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, Newburgh and other communities in the region.
