About Duluth International Airport
Duluth International Airport serves the city of Duluth and northeastern Minnesota as the region's main commercial airport, connecting travelers to major hubs and onward destinations. Its current passenger terminal opened in January 2013 and was built to handle modern security, airline and passenger needs in a single, compact building.
Located roughly 7 miles (about 11 km) northwest of downtown Duluth, the airport provides daily nonstop service to Minneapolis/St. Paul on Delta, daily service to Chicago on United, and seasonal service to Fort Myers on Sun Country. It also shares the airfield with the Minnesota Air National Guard's 148th Fighter Wing, giving the airport a joint civil-military role.
The terminal has four gates with jet bridges, two ground boarding access points, and facilities including a restaurant, lounge, gift shop, free Wi-Fi and charging outlets. Rental car counters, taxis, ride-share pickups and parking are available near the arrivals area for onward travel into the city.
Because of its convenient size, short security lines and easy access to Duluth, Canal Park and the North Shore of Lake Superior, the airport offers a practical gateway for both leisure and business travelers visiting the region.
