Drummond Airport (DRU)

Drummond Airport is a small public general aviation airfield serving the town of Drummond and Granite County in western Montana. It has been open to the public since May 1941 and remains a simple, unattended facility used mainly by private and recreational pilots.

The airport lies about 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Drummond, near the Interstate 90 corridor and the Clark Fork River. It operates a single turf runway, 7/25, measuring roughly 2,400 by 125 feet, with no control tower and no published instrument approaches.

Because Drummond Airport has no scheduled commercial passenger service or passenger terminal, most travelers flying commercially use Missoula Montana Airport, about 45 miles to the northwest. The airfield itself offers basic tiedown parking and limited services, and is unattended, so pilots plan their own operations.

Road access to Drummond is via Interstate 90 exits 153 and 154, and the town provides onward routes toward Philipsburg, Georgetown Lake and other destinations in the Flint Creek and Clark Fork valleys. Private transfers, rental cars and chauffeur services can be arranged for the short journey into Drummond or longer trips across the region.
