Located about 16 km southwest of Dolbeau-Mistassini and near Saint-Félicien, the airport provides access to the communities around Lac Saint-Jean. Its single asphalt runway, 11/29, measures about 1,524 m (5,001 ft) and supports smaller aircraft and general aviation operations.
The airport previously hosted scheduled passenger flights; in the mid-1980s, Nordair operated weekday turboprop service to Montreal. Commercial airline service is not active today, and the airfield is now used mainly by private operators, charters and local aviation activity.
