McKinley National Park Airport (MCL)

McKinley National Park Airport (IATA: MCL) is a small public-use airstrip located inside Denali National Park and Preserve, about two nautical miles (3.7 km) northeast of the park entrance area at McKinley Park. Owned by the National Park Service, it primarily supports air taxi, flightseeing, and general aviation activity rather than scheduled commercial airline service.

The airport operates a single gravel runway, 16/34, measuring roughly 3,000 by 68 feet. There is no control tower or conventional passenger terminal, and the facility is generally unattended, so most visitor services are found at the park entrance area or in the nearby community of Healy.

Road access links the airstrip to the George Parks Highway corridor, the Denali park entrance, and surrounding lodging. Larger scheduled flights arrive at Fairbanks International Airport or Anchorage, with onward travel to Denali by road or rail.

Despite its small size, the airport gives visitors direct access to one of Alaska's most visited national parks and serves as a starting point for scenic flights over the Alaska Range and Denali. Its position near the park entrance makes it a convenient option for travelers with pre-arranged air taxi or flightseeing plans.
