About Del Rio International Airport
Del Rio International Airport is a public-use airport located about 2 miles northwest of downtown Del Rio, Texas. It serves Del Rio, Val Verde County, and the nearby border community of Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, and provides an air gateway to Lake Amistad and the surrounding region.
The airport was activated in 1937 and is owned by the City of Del Rio and Val Verde County. It operates a single asphalt runway and one compact passenger terminal. DRT is designated as an international airport of entry and mainly handles general aviation, cargo, charter and private flights; scheduled commercial passenger service was discontinued in 2023.
Located near Laughlin Air Force Base, the airport supports regional aviation activity in southwest Texas. Ground access is primarily by private car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer, and downtown Del Rio is only a short drive away.
