About Danbury Municipal Airport
Danbury Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Danbury, Fairfield County, and western Connecticut. Opened in 1930, it primarily supports private, business and air taxi flying, along with flight training operations.
The airport sits roughly three miles southwest of downtown Danbury and features two intersecting asphalt runways: Runway 8/26 and Runway 17/35, with parallel taxiways and an air traffic control tower that operates from 0700 to 2200 local time. Several fixed-base operators provide passenger facilities, fuel, hangars and aircraft services.
Because the airport is a short drive from the city centre, travelers can continue to Danbury and surrounding western Connecticut communities by taxi, rental car, or pre-arranged private transfer. Local roads and nearby Interstate 84 provide access to the wider region.
As a compact general aviation gateway, the airport offers a convenient alternative for private and business flights into the Danbury area, with FBO lounges, flight schools and ground transportation services on site.
