About Curtis Field
Curtis Field is a city-owned public general aviation airport serving Brady and McCulloch County in central Texas. Activated in August 1941, the airport was named for Brady mayor Harry L. Curtis, who proposed the site as an auxiliary field for the United States Army Air Forces.
Today the airport handles private, charter, business, flight training and recreational aviation rather than scheduled commercial airline service. It has a 4,605-foot asphalt runway (17/35) and a turf runway (8/26), with the western portion of the turf runway closed.
Located about 3 miles northeast of Brady, the airport is reached by road via North Bridge Street and US Highway 377. The city-operated FBO terminal provides passenger and pilot lounges, a conference room, restrooms, Wi-Fi, fuel, hangars, aircraft parking and maintenance support.
