About Crane County Airport
Crane County Airport (CCG) is a publicly owned general aviation airfield serving Crane, Texas, the county seat of Crane County, and the wider West Texas Permian Basin region. Activated in March 1943, the airfield has long supported private, business and agricultural aviation in the area.
Located about 1 mile northwest of downtown Crane, the airport operates two asphalt runways and provides access to the region's oil and gas, ranching and energy operations as well as private pilots. There is no control tower and the field is unattended, with pilot-activated lighting and no fuel service on site.
Ground access is straightforward via local roads and U.S. Highway 385, connecting the airport to Crane and onward to Odessa and Midland. Private transfers, rental cars and taxis can be arranged for the short trip into town and for journeys across the region.
As a compact general aviation gateway, the airport focuses on practical general aviation operations rather than scheduled airline service, giving pilots and passengers a convenient entry point to this part of West Texas.
