Comodoro D. Ricardo Salomón Airport serves the city of Malargüe and the surrounding region in southern Mendoza Province. It is the closest air gateway to Las Leñas, one of Argentina's most important ski resorts, and supports both tourism and regional travel.
Opened in 1947 and reconstructed in 1983, the airport has a compact single passenger terminal of about 1,195 square metres and handles domestic flights, mainly to Mendoza and Buenos Aires. Since 1999 it has been operated as part of Argentina's privatized airport network.
Located about 1 km south of the Malargüe city centre, the airport offers quick access to the town by taxi, private transfer or rental car. During the winter season, a bus connecting Malargüe with Las Leñas also serves the airport area.
Passenger facilities include a cafeteria, restrooms, waiting areas and free uncovered parking in front of the terminal. Its small scale makes it an efficient and convenient entry point for visitors travelling to the Malargüe area and the Andes.
