Comandante Espora Airport is a joint military and civil airport serving Bahía Blanca and the surrounding south of Buenos Aires Province. The airfield opened in 1939 as a naval air base and began handling civil and commercial traffic in 1968, replacing the former civil airstrip at Villa Harding Green.
Located in Grünbein, about 12 km east of central Bahía Blanca, the airport has a single civil passenger terminal and mainly handles domestic flights connecting the city with Buenos Aires and other Argentine destinations.
