Columbia County Airport (HCC)

Columbia County Airport is a county-owned public use airport serving Hudson, New York and the surrounding Hudson Valley. The small, un-towered general aviation facility is located about 7 km (4 nautical miles) northeast of central Hudson in the town of Ghent, and mainly supports private, charter and corporate aircraft.

The airport opened in the 1960s and its single asphalt runway, designated 3/21, was later extended to its present 5,350 by 100 feet. Richmor Aviation operates as the on-site fixed-base operator, providing fueling, aircraft maintenance, hangar and tie-down space, aircraft management and charter services.

Because HCC has no scheduled commercial flights, it functions primarily as a convenient gateway for general aviation travelers visiting the Hudson Valley, the Catskills and the Berkshires. Its location just off Route 9H gives quick road access to Hudson's restaurants, galleries and historic sites, while Albany International Airport and Stewart International Airport provide commercial airline alternatives to the north and south.

The single terminal building offers a pilot's lounge, flight planning resources and administrative facilities. With 100LL and Jet-A fueling available, hangar space and a relaxed VFR operating environment, the airport supports a steady mix of private, corporate and recreational flying.
