Columbia Airport (COA) is a public general aviation airport serving Columbia and Tuolumne County in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California's Gold Country. Activated in 1940 and owned by the County of Tuolumne, it supports private, business and recreational flying throughout the region.
Located about one mile southwest of Columbia and roughly 6 km (4 miles) from Sonora, the airport sits at an elevation of about 2,121 feet and covers 356 acres. It has two runways, including a 4,673-foot asphalt runway and a 2,607-foot turf runway, along with hangars, a helipad and a fixed-base operator.
The airport offers convenient access to Columbia State Historic Park, Sonora and nearby Gold Country towns, and serves as a general aviation gateway for travelers heading into the Sierra Nevada and the wider Yosemite region.
