About Coeur d'Alene Airport – Pappy Boyington Field

Coeur d'Alene Airport – Pappy Boyington Field is the main general aviation airport serving Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and northern Idaho. Built in 1942 as Coeur d'Alene Municipal Airport, it was renamed in September 2007 to honor World War II ace Col. Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, who was born in Coeur d'Alene.

The airport covers about 1,140 acres and has two asphalt runways, including a 7,400-foot main runway that supports corporate jets and a wide range of general aviation aircraft. It serves private, charter, and business aviation rather than scheduled commercial airline service.

Located about nine miles northwest of downtown Coeur d'Alene and surrounded on three sides by the city of Hayden, the airport provides convenient access to Lake Coeur d'Alene, the Coeur d'Alene Resort, Silverwood Theme Park, and Schweitzer Mountain. Spokane, Washington, is roughly 33 to 35 miles to the west via Interstate 90.

Ground transportation includes car rental, rideshare services, taxis, and pre-arranged transfers, with direct road links along US-95 and nearby I-90. On-site FBO facilities offer lounges, dining, fueling, hangars, and passenger amenities for arriving and departing travelers.
