The airport was activated in October 1945 and is managed by the City of Clinton. It operates two concrete runways, including a 5,204-foot primary runway, and a single terminal building with pilot and passenger amenities.
The airport is positioned near U.S. Highway 30, providing road access to downtown Clinton and eastern Iowa. Scheduled commercial airline service is not available at CWI; commercial flights are offered at larger airports in the region.
