Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA)

Rome Ciampino Airport is the secondary international airport serving Rome, located on Via Appia Nuova about 15 km southeast of the city centre. Opened in 1916, it is one of Italy's oldest operational airports and now focuses mainly on low-cost, charter and private aviation traffic, complementing the larger Leonardo da Vinci Airport at Fiumicino.

The airport is organised around a compact passenger terminal for domestic and international arrivals and departures, together with a separate General Aviation terminal for private flights and air taxis. Its single-level departures area combines check-in desks, security screening and boarding gates, while the arrivals area provides baggage claim, customs and access to onward transport.

Travellers can reach central Rome by shuttle bus services to Termini Station, the Ciampino Airlink connection to Ciampino railway station, taxis, private transfers and rental cars. The airport's position near the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road also offers road access to the wider Lazio region.
