About Charlevoix Airport
Charlevoix Airport is a small regional airport serving La Malbaie and the wider Charlevoix region of Quebec. Opened in 1962, it has been owned and operated by the MRC de Charlevoix-Est since 1997.
The airport is located in Saint-Irénée, about 10 kilometres southwest of La Malbaie. It provides a convenient air gateway for private, corporate and regional flights serving the Charlevoix-Est area, including access to the Casino de Charlevoix, Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu and nearby attractions.
A major renovation completed in 2003–2004 replaced the runway and aircraft movement areas and added a new 160-square-metre terminal building. The compact terminal includes a waiting room, administrative counter, public toilets, an operations office, a conference room and a boarding area.
The airport operates seasonally, generally from May to November, and is connected to the region by road, taxi and car rental services. Its single asphalt runway and supporting navigation and fuel facilities make it a practical arrival point for travelers heading to La Malbaie, Baie-Saint-Paul and the St. Lawrence River shore of Charlevoix.
