About Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport
Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport is the only airport offering scheduled air service in Sonoma County and the wider North Bay region. It serves Santa Rosa and Northern California's Wine Country as a compact, convenient gateway for domestic flights and connections across the United States.
The airport's history began with the County's purchase of agricultural land in 1939 and construction of the first runway, and it later served as the Santa Rosa Army Airfield during World War II. In 2000, the facility was renamed in honor of Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, a longtime Sonoma County resident. A $40 million terminal modernization completed in 2023 added boarding gates, a refreshed ticketing lobby, expanded security lanes and new concessions.
Located about 7 miles (11 km) northwest of downtown Santa Rosa, the airport has a single passenger terminal with Concourse A and Concourse B. All scheduled commercial service is domestic, with nonstop flights on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, plus connections to destinations across the U.S., Mexico and beyond.
