Cayenne – Félix Éboué Airport is the principal airport serving French Guiana and the main air link between the territory, metropolitan France, and neighbouring South American and Caribbean destinations. Opened in 1943 as an airfield built by United States forces during the Second World War, it was long known as Cayenne-Rochambeau before being renamed in honour of Félix Éboué.
Located in the commune of Matoury, about 13.5 kilometres southwest of central Cayenne, the airport has a single passenger terminal of roughly 12,000 m² and one long runway of 3,800 metres. It handles scheduled services to Paris and the French Caribbean as well as regional flights connecting Cayenne with communities in the interior such as Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, Maripasoula, and Saül.
