Capitán FAP José A. Quiñones González International Airport is the main airport serving Chiclayo and the surrounding Lambayeque region in northern Peru. It handles regular domestic connections, particularly to Lima, as well as international flights, and acts as the primary gateway for travellers visiting the region's archaeological sites and northern beaches.
The airport was inaugurated in 1956 and was granted international category status in 1994. It is named in honour of Captain José Quiñones González, a Peruvian Air Force officer and national hero, and has been operated under concession by Aeropuertos del Perú since 2008.
The airport is located within Chiclayo, about 2 km from the city centre, and operates a single passenger terminal and one main runway. Its compact layout makes for a straightforward passenger experience, with short walking distances between check-in, security and the boarding area.
