About Cambridge City Airport

Cambridge City Airport is a regional airport on the eastern outskirts of Cambridge, serving Cambridgeshire and the East of England. It opened in 1938, when it replaced the earlier airfield at Fen Ditton, and is owned and operated by the Cambridge-based Marshall group.

Today the airport focuses on business aviation, general aviation, charter flights, flying schools and specialist movements such as equine, pet and medical flights. Regular scheduled and charter passenger services ended in January 2016, and the Cambridge Jet Centre now handles most passenger-facing activity.

The airport lies about 3 km from central Cambridge, close to Newmarket Road and major road links, with its single 1,965 m asphalt runway served by full air traffic control, radar and instrument landing systems. It is around 50 miles from central London and roughly 10 miles from Newmarket.

Passengers travelling through the airport use the Jet Centre for lounges, meeting rooms, screening, customs clearance and parking, with private transfers, chauffeur services, car rental and group transport available for onward journeys to Cambridge, Newmarket and the wider region.

Terminals
