About Burley Municipal Airport
Burley Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Burley and the Magic Valley region of southern Idaho. Located just east of downtown, the airport supports private, business, agricultural, medical and emergency aviation, and it was originally dedicated on 4 July 1930.
In late October 2002 the facility was rededicated as the Burley J R Jack Simplot Airport. It features two asphalt runways, a small terminal building with a pilot's lounge, and an on-site fixed-base operator, The Flight Line, Inc., that provides fuel, maintenance, aircraft parking and related services.
The airport sits about one mile northeast of central Burley, close enough that some visitors can walk into town, and it is reached easily by car or taxi. There is no scheduled commercial airline service, so most travelers use private aircraft, charters or general aviation flights.
For pilots and passengers, the airport offers practical and convenient access to Burley, the Snake River area, Twin Falls and other communities in the region, with a compact layout and limited but useful passenger facilities.
