Buckeye Municipal Airport (BXK)

Buckeye Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Buckeye and the West Valley of metro Phoenix. Originally built during World War II as an auxiliary airfield for Luke Air Force Base, it was later transferred to the Town of Buckeye for civilian use. Located about six miles northwest of downtown Buckeye and roughly 30 miles west of Phoenix, the airport primarily supports private aviation, flight training, skydiving operations, and visiting aircraft rather than scheduled airline service. Its main runway, Runway 17/35, is 5,500 feet long. The airport is easily reached by road near Interstate 10, and its single general aviation terminal provides pilot and passenger services, aircraft parking, and fueling. Onward travel to Buckeye, Phoenix, and nearby West Valley communities is available by car, taxi, or pre-arranged transfer. As a local general aviation facility, the airport also supports community events such as the Buckeye Air Fair, adding to its role as a practical gateway for private flights into the Phoenix area.
