About Browns Airport
Browns Airport is a private-use general aviation airfield serving Weeping Water and Cass County in southeastern Nebraska. Located about two miles east of Weeping Water, it sits between Omaha and Lincoln and primarily supports private flying, local general aviation and skydiving activity.
The airport has operated since the late 1940s and is best known as the home of the Lincoln Sport Parachute Club, founded in 1959 and regarded as the oldest continuously operating skydiving club in the United States. The club purchased the airport property in 2005 and later built a clubhouse with training, packing and manifest areas.
Browns Airport has two turf runways, with the longest measuring about 2,200 feet, and no control tower. Facilities include 100LL aviation fuel, hangar and tiedown parking, and airframe and powerplant maintenance, but the airport does not offer scheduled airline service or a conventional passenger terminal.
The airfield is roughly 39 miles from Omaha and 33 miles from Lincoln by road, and it is reached via Weeping Water Road and nearby highways.
