About Brevig Mission Airport

Brevig Mission Airport serves the small Inupiat community of Brevig Mission on Alaska's Seward Peninsula. It is the village's main air link for passengers, mail, food and medical flights, because the community has no road connection to the rest of Alaska.

The airport is publicly owned and managed by the Alaska Department of Transportation. It has two gravel runways, 12/30 and 5/23, at an elevation of about 38 feet, and a recent rehabilitation project rebuilt the runways and upgraded lighting, the beacon and navigational aids.

The airport lies about 1 km from the village center. There are no taxis, buses or car rental desks; local transport is by ATV in summer, snowmobile in winter, or on foot, with most scheduled flights connecting through Nome.

Passenger facilities are intentionally simple: a single small heated terminal with seating and no shops, cafés or Wi-Fi. Travelers should confirm flights directly with the airline, bring supplies, and allow for weather-related delays.
