Brač Airport (BWK)

Brač Airport is a small international airport on the Croatian island of Brač, close to Bol and the island's southern coast. Opened in 1993, it was built to improve access to the island's resorts, villages and beaches, and it continues to handle a seasonal mix of scheduled and charter traffic. Located on a plateau roughly 540 metres above sea level, the airport has one of the highest settings in Croatia and is reached mainly by car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer. The nearest town is Bol, about 14 km away, while Supetar and its ferry links to Split lie around 28 km to the north. The present passenger terminal opened in 2007 and provides a compact, single-building layout for check-in, security, departures and arrivals. The runway has been extended to 1,760 metres, allowing the airport to serve larger regional and narrow-body aircraft during the summer season. Because services are seasonal and the terminal is small, travellers are advised to confirm flight and transfer arrangements in advance. The airport serves as a practical gateway to Bol, Zlatni Rat beach and other destinations across Brač, with onward travel by road and ferry.
