About Bodø Airport
Bodø Airport is the main airport serving Bodø and the Nordland region of Northern Norway. Opened for civil traffic in 1952 and part of a combined civil and military facility, it functions as a regional hub and a gateway to the Lofoten Islands and the Norwegian coast.
Located about one to two kilometres from the city centre, the airport has a single passenger terminal completed in 1990 with eleven gates and three air bridges. It handles mainly domestic services operated by Widerøe, SAS and Norwegian, along with some international flights.
The airport is connected to Bodø by bus lines, taxis and rental cars, with the journey to the centre taking roughly five minutes. The train station, express boat quay and ferry terminal provide onward links to destinations including the Salten region, Lofoten and the wider Norwegian coast.
A new, larger airport terminal is under construction to replace the current facilities and increase capacity. Passengers can use shops, restaurants, cafés, duty-free services, Wi-Fi, parking and assistance services before or after their flights.
