About Blackpool Airport
Blackpool Airport is located at Squires Gate on the Fylde Coast, around 5 km south of Blackpool town centre. It serves general aviation, business, executive and private charter flights and is closely connected to the popular coastal resorts and towns of Lancashire.
The airport's terminal infrastructure is being modernised, with a new passenger handling terminal providing an enhanced arrivals and departures area and a larger security checkpoint. Squires Gate railway station is about a five-minute walk away, linking the airport with Blackpool and Preston and offering onward rail connections across the region.
Scheduled commercial passenger services ended at the airport in 2014, and today Blackpool Airport focuses on private flying, corporate travel, flight training and general aviation. This makes it a practical arrival point for private aircraft and charter flights travelling to the Fylde Coast.
With its coastal location, nearby rail link and facilities including a lounge, café, car parking and car rental, the airport provides a convenient gateway to Blackpool, Lytham St Annes and the wider Lancashire coast.
