About Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airport
Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airport is a municipal general aviation airport and industrial airpark serving Big Spring and Howard County in West Texas. The site has a long aviation history as a former Webb Air Force Base training installation, and today it is owned and operated by the City of Big Spring.
The airport sits about two miles southwest of downtown Big Spring and supports private, corporate, charter, agricultural and flight-training operations. Its facilities include an 8,803-foot main runway, a smaller crosswind runway and a terminal building of more than 4,000 square feet with a waiting area, conference room and pilot lounge.
Because HCA does not offer scheduled commercial airline service, travelers generally arrive by private aircraft and continue by car, taxi, rental car or pre-arranged transfer. The airport has road access to Big Spring and nearby West Texas destinations such as Midland, Odessa and Snyder.
Passenger and pilot amenities include Wi-Fi, restrooms, concessions, fuel services, aircraft maintenance, hangars and a courtesy car. The Hangar 25 Air Museum, located on the airport grounds, reflects the facility's history as a former military training base.
