Big Lake Airport is a state-owned, public-use general aviation airfield serving the Big Lake community in Alaska's Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Activated in 1951, it operates primarily for private and light aviation traffic and has no scheduled commercial airline service.
Located about one mile southeast of central Big Lake and roughly 58 miles (93 km) north of Anchorage, the airport functions as a practical base for pilots, aircraft maintenance and recreational flying in the Mat-Su Valley.
The airport has one gravel runway, designated 07/25, measuring approximately 2,450 feet by 70 feet, with medium-intensity runway lighting. There is no control tower or passenger terminal; pilots use the common traffic advisory frequency and transient aircraft parking marked with green cones.
