About Bicol International Airport
Bicol International Airport is the main airport serving Legazpi, the capital of Albay and the regional centre of the Bicol Region in the Philippines. Opened in October 2021, it replaced the older Legazpi Airport and became the region's first international airport.
Located in the municipality of Daraga, adjacent to Legazpi City, the airport sits on a plateau around 15 kilometres from Mayon Volcano and is often described as one of the country's most scenic gateways. It currently handles mostly domestic flights connecting the region with Manila and other Philippine destinations.
The airport features a two-level passenger terminal of about 13,680 square metres, designed to accommodate roughly two million passengers a year, along with a 2,500-metre runway capable of receiving larger aircraft than its predecessor.
Road connections, taxis, tricycles, private transfers and car rental link the airport to Legazpi city centre, Daraga and other parts of Albay, making onward travel around the Bicol Region relatively straightforward for arriving passengers.
