Bembridge Airport is a small general aviation airfield serving the eastern Isle of Wight. Opened in 1920, it is one of the island's long-standing aviation sites and remains an unlicensed aerodrome used mainly by private pilots, flying schools and light aircraft rather than scheduled commercial airlines.
Located about a mile south-west of Bembridge village and a short distance from Sandown, the airfield has a single concrete runway aligned 12/30. Its position close to the coast makes it a convenient entry point for private and chartered flights to the island's eastern beaches and towns.
There are no airline terminals or regular passenger services. Road access is straightforward from Sandown Road, and onward travel is typically made by taxi, private transfer, chauffeured car or rental vehicle, with Newport, Ryde and other island destinations within a modest drive.
