About Belluno Arturo dell'Oro Airport

Belluno Arturo dell'Oro Airport is a small general aviation airfield serving Belluno and the surrounding Dolomites area of Italy's Veneto region. It operates mainly as a base for the Aero Club Belluno, flight training, gliding and sport parachuting rather than as a scheduled commercial airport.

The airport is located about four kilometres northeast of central Belluno along the SS50 road towards Ponte nelle Alpi, between the road and the Piave river. Its single grass runway, orientated 05/23 and measuring about 812 by 42 metres, is used mainly by light aircraft, ultralights and gliders.

The airfield is named after Arturo dell'Oro, an Italian aviator who died in action over Belluno in 1917. The Aero Club Belluno, founded in 1951, manages the site and runs a flight school offering private pilot and glider training. In the late 1960s, the airport was briefly linked by Aeralpi services to Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo using small Twin Otter aircraft.

Today the airport has a compact clubhouse with a small bar-café, a waiting area and flight planning facilities. With Belluno only a short drive away and the Dolomites nearby, travellers can continue to the city, Ponte nelle Alpi and mountain resorts by taxi or pre-arranged private transfer.
