Bardawil International Airport is a civil airport serving central and northern Sinai, near El Hassana in North Sinai Governorate. It was developed as part of Egypt's program to improve connectivity across Sinai and was reported ready for operations in early 2023, with the aim of supporting nearby industrial areas, cement plants, marble quarries, agricultural land, and fishing communities.
Located in the Meliz area of central Sinai, the airport has a main runway measuring 3,350 m in length and 60 m in width, together with an aircraft apron that can accommodate eight aircraft. Its passenger terminal is designed to handle around 300 passengers per hour and includes departure and arrival areas as well as a passport hall.
Road connections link the airport with destinations such as El Arish, Ismailia, and the Suez Canal area. Taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services, rental cars, and group transport can be used for onward travel, although the airport serves a relatively remote part of Sinai.
