About Bacolod–Silay International Airport
Bacolod–Silay International Airport is the main airport serving Metro Bacolod and the province of Negros Occidental in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It provides domestic connections to Manila, Cebu and Davao and is capable of handling international air traffic.
Opened on January 18, 2008, the airport replaced the former Bacolod City Domestic Airport and inherited its IATA code BCD. It is located about 15 kilometers northeast of Bacolod City in Barangay Bagtic, Silay, on a 181-hectare site.
The facility has a single three-level passenger terminal, one 2,002-meter runway, and an instrument landing system that supports night and low-visibility operations. The terminal is designed to handle arrivals, departures, check-in, security screening and passenger services in one compact complex.
The airport is reached from Bacolod City by shuttle vans, taxis, ride-hailing services, private transfers and rental cars, with bus connections available from Silay City. This makes it a practical entry point for travelers continuing to Bacolod's city center, nearby towns and Negros Occidental's coastal and heritage destinations.
