About Bardera Airport
Bardera Airport is a small airport serving Baardheere, a city in the Gedo region of southern Somalia. It mainly supports domestic and humanitarian air connections for a part of the country where road travel can be challenging, acting as a practical gateway for the local area.
Located east of Baardheere town centre, the airport has one runway designated 15/33 with a compacted sand surface. Its single, basic terminal handles all passenger arrivals and departures, and passenger services are limited rather than extensive.
Road links connect the airport with Baardheere and surrounding settlements, and travellers normally continue their journey by private transfer, taxi or locally arranged transport rather than by scheduled public services.
As a small regional airport, it plays a practical role for local travel and relief operations in the Gedo region. Visitors should expect a simple airport experience and plan onward transport in advance.
