Augusta State Airport is the main airport serving Augusta, Maine's capital city, and the surrounding Kennebec Valley region. Opened in 1940 and publicly owned by the State of Maine, it handles scheduled regional flights as well as general aviation, charter and flight training activity.
Located about 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of central Augusta, the airport offers scheduled service to Boston through the Essential Air Service program alongside private and business aviation.
