About Arar Domestic Airport
Arar Domestic Airport is the main airport serving Arar, the capital of Saudi Arabia's Northern Borders Province. Opened in 1981, it is the third domestic airport established to serve the province and primarily connects the region with destinations across the Kingdom.
The airport was renovated and expanded by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, with new facilities partially entering service at the end of 2019 and the development project inaugurated in February 2021. The expanded airport is designed to accommodate more than one million passengers and around 10,000 flights per year.
Located about 13 km from central Arar, the airport can be reached in roughly 15 minutes via King Fahd Road. It is also about 65 km from the Jadidat Arar Land Port on the Saudi-Iraqi border, making it a useful gateway for the northern region.
The single main passenger terminal includes six gates, two passenger boarding bridges, seating for around 900 passengers and baggage handling facilities. Passenger services include a cafeteria, an Executive Terminal and parking, with taxis available for onward travel.
