About Aransas County Airport
Aransas County Airport is a publicly owned general aviation airport serving Rockport and the surrounding Texas Coastal Bend. Established under an agreement between the Civil Aeronautics Administration and Aransas County in 1943 and activated in April 1944, the airport has a long history that includes use as a World War II training site before it reverted to county control in 1948.
Located about four miles north of downtown Rockport along State Highway 35, near Fulton, the airport operates two lighted asphalt runways and two lighted taxiways. The longer runway, 14/32, measures about 5,608 feet, and runway 18/36 measures about 4,498 feet, supporting general aviation, corporate, and private aircraft operations.
The on-site FBO, Aransas County Airport Services, provides fuel, hangar and tie-down storage, a pilot lounge, crew rest facilities, courtesy cars, and free Wi-Fi. There is no control tower or scheduled commercial airline service, so most passengers and pilots use the airport for private, business, and recreational flying.
For onward travel, visitors can use airport courtesy cars, arrange a Hertz rental delivered to the FBO, take a taxi, or book private transfers to Rockport, Fulton, Rockport Beach, and other Gulf Coast destinations.
