Angama Mara Airport is a small airport near Angama Mara in Narok County, Kenya, serving the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Originally built as the Angama Mara Airstrip, it has long supported access to the safari lodges and camps along the Oloololo Escarpment.
Located in the southwestern part of the Maasai Mara, the airport sits at about 1,881 metres above sea level and operates a single tarmac runway of approximately 1,260 metres. The Kenya Airports Authority has been upgrading the facility in phases to expand the runway and add a modern passenger terminal.
The airport is about 120 kilometres by road southwest of Narok, the county headquarters, and roughly 278 kilometres west of Nairobi. Scheduled safari flights from Nairobi's Wilson Airport reach the airstrip in about 45 minutes, making it a practical gateway for visitors to the reserve.
On the ground, onward travel is typically arranged through safari lodges or pre-booked transfers, with 4x4 vehicles used for journeys into the reserve and surrounding conservancies.
