About Alta Airport
Alta Airport is the main airport serving Alta and the wider Finnmark region in northern Norway. Opened on 4 May 1963, it is owned and operated by the state-owned Avinor and is the busiest airport in Finnmark.
The airport is located at Elvebakken, about 4 km east of central Alta, and operates from a single terminal that handles domestic flights and seasonal international services. Domestic routes connect Alta with Oslo and Tromsø, among other destinations.
Transport connections include local bus services to the town centre, taxis, private transfers and car rental from the terminal, making onward travel to Alta and surrounding areas relatively straightforward.
