Alerta Airport (ALD)

Alerta Airport is a small regional airstrip serving the village of Alerta in Peru's remote Ucayali Region, close to the Bolivian border. It provides a vital air link for one of the least accessible areas of the Peruvian Amazon, where road connections are limited and travel is often made by river or small aircraft.

The airfield sits at an elevation of about 244 metres and has a single grass runway measuring roughly 1,210 metres, although encroaching vegetation can reduce the usable length to around 660 metres. It is located about one kilometre north of the village of Alerta, near the Río Muymanu.

Passenger facilities at Alerta Airport are minimal, reflecting its role as a small jungle airstrip rather than a commercial hub. Flight operations are limited and primarily serve regional and local air traffic, with check-in and arrival procedures handled within a single small terminal area.

Because of the airport's remote location, onward travel is typically arranged in advance, with transport from the airstrip to the village and connections toward larger regional centres such as Puerto Maldonado requiring careful planning.
