About Akulivik Airport
Akulivik Airport serves the community of Akulivik, a small village on the Hudson Bay coast of the Ungava Peninsula in Nunavik, northern Quebec. It is the community's main year-round connection to the rest of the province, linking residents and visitors to regional hubs and onward destinations. The airport opened in 1989 and is operated by the Kativik Regional Government. Its single gravel runway supports scheduled flights operated primarily by Air Inuit, which connects Akulivik with other Nunavik communities such as Puvirnituq, Ivujivik and Kuujjuaq. Located about 3 km southwest of the village, the airport has a small single-storey terminal with a sheltered waiting area and basic services. Facilities such as shops, restaurants and ATMs are generally found in the village rather than at the airport, so travellers are advised to plan ahead. Access to the village is usually by pre-arranged pickup or local taxi, and a short walk is possible in good weather. As a remote northern gateway, the airport also supports essential services including medical evacuation and the delivery of supplies to the community.

Terminal Overview

Terminals
Akulivik Airport operates through a single small passenger terminal building. All scheduled flights are domestic and connect Nunavik communities, so there are no separate international or Schengen terminal areas.
